Men's Lunch Bunch
Meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 11:30am at the Sales Center to carpool. We visit different restaurants. Contact Jeff Milner for more information.
April 6, 2022 Update:
Lacy chose a GREAT! place = Legend Brewing
Company (Link).
Great Food, and a great beer (Legends Brown).
The Virginia Original. Our most
popular beer, Legend Brown Ale
is a full-bodied version of an American Brown Ale. Expect a rich,
malt-forward brew with a beautiful mahogany tone. A generous amount
of specialty malts brings flavors of sweet caramel, toasted nuts,
coffee, and molasses, all perfectly balanced by cautious hop
dryness. Fruity undertones provided by our strain of house yeast
round out this world class ale.
Left to Right = (a bit of) Mike T, Lou D, Lynn He, Rick S, Mark F, Hank H, - , Lacy G, Joe G, Dan T, Ed G, Dave F. (Jeff M took the photo).
March 2, 2022 Update:
Mark selected
Sergio's Italian Restaurant.
It is located in a small commercial "square" just inside
Brandermill's Hull St entrance (just west of 288).
They have Great Eats (menu)
and Craft Beers (tap
list). Service and food quality were very good even with a
somewhat short staff (only two waitstaff for the whole place).
FYI - While Mark called 3 weeks ahead with an approximate
headcount to check availability, when he called again 2 days ahead
with a more firm number, they said that they did not take
reservations and thus, did not add additional staffing. He
arrived 20 min early to ensure the table was available, pre-set, and
ready.

February 2022 Update:
For the Men’s Lunch Bunch, Ed Giebel selected Riptides for the Feb 2th luncheon. There were 11 gentlemen in attendance. Pictured around the table were, Dave F, Ed G., Don K., David R., Rick S., were seated on the left side of the table. Lynn Her., Lynn Hil., Joe G., Elliot S., and Mike T. were seated on the right side of the table. Jeff M. took the picture. The meal was good, and we had the restaurant mostly to ourselves (so we could carry on conversation), with “Aunt B” providing great service. David is new to the lunch group, and Lynn Her and he discussed golf. Welcome aboard David.

The September lunch was at the Hooters next to Chesterfield Towne Center Mall. Thanks Lynn Her. for coordinating this.
August 2021 Update:
Thanks, Dave, for coordinating this lunch at Capital Ale House (since Howlett's was closed on Wednesdays). Great Food.
Second Quarter 2021 Update:
Pandemic, isolation, face masks, vaccinations... COVID-19
made us aware of the uncertainties each day can bring, no matter
how thorough we plan and how well we execute; of the courage we
can muster from deep inside when challenged; and of the
importance of love and family and the strength it provides.
March 2020 to June 2021--14 months passed since the Men's Lunch
Bunch last officially got together. The group began its
post-COVID period with 27 members. With the lifting of
restrictions and mandates, June brought a feeling of relief
(sprinkled with a dash of precaution and optimism). Our
long-awaited get together took place at The Reserve at The
Highlands and there was no lack of conversation. After all, we
had missed discussing the College Football Playoffs and
Championship, the Super Bowl, March Madness, and more important
topics like family visits and travel, the landfill, the
Nash/Beach Road intersection....
July brought us a taste of Italy but closer to home at
Candella's Pizzeria and Restorante Italiano in the Huguenot
Shopping at the intersection of Robious and Huguenot roads.
Their webpage says "There's more to Italian cuisine than pizzas
and pastas, and this is what you'll realize when you step into
Candela's Pizzeria & Ristorante Italiano." A quick look at the
menu will make you a believer. Friendly service, great food, and
an atmosphere that makes you feel at home--that's what
Candella's has brought to Chesterfield for over 23 years.
If you enjoy trying different restaurants and food the Men’s
Lunch Bunch is the way to satisfy that. See any of the
Nifty-Fifty Plus officers or contact me
(mikewellman@verizon.net) if you want to join the group.
